Frequently Asked Questions

We HIGHLY recommend contacting us during your pregnancy, from just finding out to in active labor, to start the booking process. You will pay a deposit, and we will place your due date on our calendar so we can stay updated on your pregnancy and eventual birth. Although we make every effort to fit in last minute newborn session requests, our schedule fills quickly and once it is full, it can sometimes be difficult to do so. Once you are on the schedule, you will be given priority for session scheduling when your baby arrives and we will make sure to do your session within the first 2 weeks after birth. If your baby is already born, please do feel free to call and inquire about a session as we do try to fit in every newborn inquiry whenever possible.
We will provide every prop and accessory we’ll need for your session! Over a dozen different blankets, dozens of baskets, over 50 hats, TONS of headbands! Of course if you have any items you would like to incorporate into your session, we encourage you to bring them as we’d love to create shots that are personal to you!
Another HUGE benefit of choosing us for your newborn session… CUSTOMIZED props just for you! From hats to headbands to wraps! Have an idea for a hat or a specific color combination you’d like to have in your session? Let us know during your consultation and we’ll make sure to have it ready just for your session when you come in!

Once your newborn is here, we suggest having someone contact us immediately so we can choose a date for your session. To insure the sleepy, curly, newborn poses, we advise scheduling a newborn session within the first 14 days after delivery. Parents of breastfed babies should wait until the mother’s milk comes in so your newborn will be sure to have a nice full tummy after every feeding (about 7-10 days). Bottle fed babies generally take more per feeding so may be photographed as early as 4-5 days old.
Between soothing, precise posing, feeding, and setting up/prepping our shots, our newborn photography sessions take about 3 hours. Multiple newborns may take a little bit longer. We love taking our time to perfect every picture we create.
We put together a set of guidelines that can help your newborn session go as smooth as possible. You will receive it the day before your session.
Yes. We focus on the baby at the beginning of the session and take sibling and family portraits at the end of the session. We recommend bringing siblings for the last hour of your 3 hour studio session. So, they dont have to sit in the studio for the whole 3 hour session.
