I understand that parents are always worried about their newborns during a photo shoot. Will they be sleepy? Will they cry? But don't worry, I've got this! If your baby is fed and happy, I'll try to get a few shots of them awake. And if we're lucky, we might even get a few cute facial expressions. Just like with anything else in life, it's unpredictable what we'll get. Your baby could give us a grumpy look or a cute little smirk - it's all up to fate!
Although I can not guarantee that your baby will look at the camera and smile during a newborn photo shoot, I promise I will do anything in my power to make your session go as smooth as possible and you gonna LOVE your newborn pictures!
I have been photographing newborns for over a decade, and I love my job. Every day, I get to witness new life enter the world. And I get to capture that new life in photos. It's amazing to see how different each baby is. Some are quiet and serious, while others are playful and energetic. But one thing all newborns have in common is that they love being swaddled. It helps them to feel safe and secure and to recreate the feeling of being in the womb.
Swaddling is one of the oldest baby-calming techniques out there, but it's still just as effective today as it ever was. It's amazing how something so simple can make such a big difference for newborns.
To ensure I provide my clients with a variety of pictures, I usually start my newborn session with the poses that require babies to be super sleepy and wrap them for the last part of the session for sibling and family pictures. It works perfectly every single time! Most parents are amazed that their baby made it through the session without any fuss! They always compliment me on my amazing baby-soothing techniques.
