In Ancient Chinese philosophy, yin and yang is a Chinese philosophical concept that describes how obviously opposite or contrary forces may actually be complementary, interconnected, and interdependent in the natural world, and how they may give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another. When my clients contacted my about their twin boy girl photo shoot, they told me that they want to implement this yin yang idea for their newborn pictures as their twin boy and girl babies acted totally different in mom's womb showing their different personalities even before birth. Opposites. Interdependent. Mutually consuming. Yin is a symbol of earth, femaleness, darkness, passivity, and absorption. Yang is conceived of as heaven, maleness, light, activity, and penetration. In harmony, the two are depicted as the light and dark halves of a circle.
